Santa Fe is a small, historically significant neighborhood in North Oakland, and among the oldest. This residential quarter takes its name from the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe (AT&SF) Railway, which once ran through this neighborhood back in the late 19th century. Though the AT&SF may no longer exist, Santa Fe hasn't lost its access to rapid transit.  This diverse, community-oriented neighborhood boasts charming early-20th-century homes set among quiet, tree-lined streets, community gardens and nearby parks.
