Here is what my Clients have to say about living here for the last 12 years:

Welcome to Your Future Home at Chetwood Gardens

After 12 incredible years, we are moving. But let me tell you — leaving this place isn’t easy. This isn’t just a condo; it’s been a home filled with love, great memories and an amazing community. We will miss it a lot.

A Neighborhood Like No Other

Living at Chetwood Gardens has been a dream. This is a place where neighbors look out for each other, where friendships are made, and where every street corner has something special to offer. One of my favorite places? The Morcom Rose Garden, just at the end of the block. I spent countless summer days there doing volunteer gardening, learning about roses, enjoying peaceful walks, exercising, having a picnic and even stumbling upon the occasional surprise opera performance among the roses. We’re also near Piedmont, a beautiful neighborhood known for its stunning homes and breathtaking views of the Bay.

The Best of City Living — Without the Hassle

One of the biggest perks? Easy access to San Francisco. The “P” Express Bus, just a block away on Monte Vista and Oakland Avenue, takes you straight to Salesforce Transit Center — perfect for commuters.

Prefer to stay local? This condo is in one of the most walkable parts of Oakland.

  • Piedmont Ave and Lakeshore Ave are just a stroll away, filled with charming cafes, boutiques and fantastic restaurants. My favorite? La Farine — a French bakery with delicious fruit tarts.
  • Lake Merritt is within walking distance, offering a scenic 3-mile loop for morning jogs, peaceful walks or simply soaking in the views.
  • Cinemas: Whether it’s the historic Grand Lake Theatre near Lake Merritt or the Landmark Piedmont Theatre, movie lovers will feel right at home.
  • YMCA on Broadway — with a semi-Olympic pool and top-tier facilities — makes it easy to stay active. Or, just go for a run outside and enjoy the weather.

Everything You Need, Right Around the Corner

Grocery shopping is a breeze with Safeway just three blocks away, Piedmont Grocery, Sprouts and Lucky nearby on Broadway, Trader Joe’s on Lakeshore avenue and Whole Foods at Adams Point. Plus, the Saturday Farmers Market across from Grand Lake Theatre.
Food lovers will be spoiled for choice with incredible Thai, Japanese, Greek, Vietnamese, Indian, and American restaurants along Piedmont Avenue, Lakeshore, and Grand Avenue. My top picks?
  • The Star for Chicago-style deep-dish pizza
  • Miss Saigon for amazing Vietnamese food
  • Mijori for top-notch sushi
  • The Guru Curry House for flavorful Indian cuisine
  • Grand Avenue Thai Cuisine for authentic Thai dishes
Even essentials like dentists and hospitals are close by, with major medical centers just a five-minute drive away on Broadway.

A Place You’ll Love

There’s so much more I could say about living here. The street is peaceful yet vibrant, the neighbors are warm and welcoming, and the location offers the best of both worlds — quiet charm with city convenience.
This condo has been a wonderful home for us, and we know it will be for you too. We hope you love it as much as we do. Welcome home!

Neighborhood

Grand Lake is a small, scenic neighborhood just two miles north of Downtown Oakland. Located on the northeast side of Interstate 580, the real estate features a mix of spacious condos, multi-plex units, and quaint Craftsman-style single family homes. The neighborhood is surrounded by some of the most popular areas in the East Bay: Adams Point to the west, Crocker Highlands to the east, and Piedmont to the north.

Many homes in Grand Lake date back to the 1920s and '30s, some designed by notable Bay Area architects like Julia Morgan, Maybeck & White, and Charles McCall. The neighborhood retains its period charm, with romantic homes in Italian Renaissance, Tudor, Spanish, Monterey, French provincial, and Colonial styles.

The Grand Lake - Oakland Farmers Market is one of the most popular in the East Bay. Every Saturday from 9:00am to 2:00pm, vendors bring their finest goods to Lake Park Avenue, offering locally grown organic produce, grass-fed meats, seafood, honey, and hand-crafted jewelry.

Grand Lake's proximity to I-580 makes commuting to San Francisco convenient. Several bus routes lead to the Salesforce Transit Center, near the Financial District and Google Headquarters.

With delicious food options along Grand Avenue, a bustling farmer's market, and easy access to transportation, it's easy to see why Grand Lake has become a popular East Bay neighborhood to call home.
