This gated Mediterranean style oasis features two buildings nestled amongst generous open space and a deep-water dock with boating access to San Francisco Bay.

Enjoy a hot outdoor shower after sailing, kayaking, fishing, or rowing in the sheltered waters of the Alameda Estuary or relax in solitude while watching migrating pelicans, egrets, and blue herons from the modern aluminum pier.

The gardens are well established and with several fruit trees providing abundant organic citrus. A renovation of the four-bedroom main house was completed in 1995 along with new construction of a two-bedroom guest house/apartment above a four-car garage.

The unified architecture of the two buildings creates a harmonious compound built to modern resource efficient standards complete with a projection room and secluded courtyard featuring a three tired fountain.

Keep your 70-foot yacht within your titled property on the ample 24,905 sq ft lot.

Bike to shops and restaurants on Park Street or drive in minutes to downtown San Francisco. Located in the highly desirable Edison School district, rarely does such a significant waterfront property on San Francisco Bay become available.

Neighborhood

Alameda began as a peninsula just south of Oakland and is now an East Bay island with a laid-back feeling all its own.

You will find a variety of homes in Alameda including cozy apartments, spacious single family homes that have been fully renovated, and gorgeous luxury mansions where no expense was spared. With more than 10,000 buildings constructed before 1930, there is a rich and varied architectural heritage in the area playing a role in Alameda's real estate market conditions. Historic Queen Anne's, more than 1,500 ornately decorated Victorians, and California Craftsmans are some of the most desirable homes here along its tree-lined streets.

The Fernside neighborhood boasts Christmas Tree Lane  where the neighbors go all out during the holidays and Santa holds court on Thompson Street.  Lincoln Park located between High street and Fernside Boulevard,  offers a recreation center, pool, picnic areas, athletic field, basketball, bocce ball, and pickleball courts.

The renowned Edison School district also serves the Fernside neighborhood.

A little off the beaten path, Alameda has a laid-back vibe all its own. With a population of only 80,000 residents, Alameda’s population density is less than half that of San Francisco. The Park Street business district with its many shops, restaurants and historic theater is a short walk or bicycle ride away. The quaint Altarena Playhouse on High Street is also within walking distance.

Start your day with a visit to the Alameda Museum. Since 1948, the museum has preserved the rich history of this unique island city and offers both locals and tourists an opportunity to learn more about the great island of Alameda. After a day at the museum, there are plenty of great restaurants to choose from, including: Monkey King Pub and Grub: Featuring a unique mix of Asian-fusion cuisine, crafty cocktails, and delicious draft beer, this is also a great happy hour hangout. La Penca Azul: A family-owned favorite for over 25 years, they are also well- known for their taco truck. Original Red Onion:

If you love great, locally-sourced food in a family-friendly atmosphere, you will absolutely love this restaurant. Civic pride runs high in Alameda, and many of the city’s older buildings have been fully restored or repurposed. The Alameda Theater on Park Street was restored to its art deco glory, while the Alameda Free Library was transformed from the Carnegie Library into a multimillion-dollar showplace that earned a Silver LEED certification.

Alameda is also a great place for outdoor activities. Robert W Crown Memorial State Beach is the perfect place for wind-surfing or taking a morning run near the beach. There are several annual festivals and activities to enjoy.

The 4th of July Parade is the longest in the nation with typically over 170 entries including equestrians, dance troops and marching bands.

Other popular events downtown include a Spring Festival in May and a Classic Car Show in October. No matter the time of year, there is always something fun happening in Alameda.
